Well, today is my day and this is my last post on here.

Hillary is a lost cause, obviously. However, Bill and Hillary will always have my utmost respect and affection - they have earned it. Not so for Obama.

Let's be clear: The Clintons are not perfect people. But they have been singly and severally investigated, depositioned, harangued, harassed, hounded, dissected, analyzed, examined and cross-examined, and yelled at for hours on a daily basis by rabid assholes like Limbaugh et al. Everything is there for the world to see. Not so for Obama.

I didn't spill my blood on foreign soil (5 more minutes and I would have gone into the light) to join any kind of group-think.

Patriotism is very important to me, but the war on terror is bullshit. Iraq is a colossal shithole. The whole damn Department of Homeland Security is a gargantuan pile of bullshit. For that reason, I will not vote for the Old Coot. But he has my greatest thanks and respect - especially on this day.

At any rate, I may or may not vote in November. I just don't vote for somebody I neither like nor respect.

Actually, compared to other stuff I've seen on the rec list, that was pretty tame and the discussion that followed wasn't all that bad.

I don't mind it when people get hot under the collar and let off a verbal blast. What frightens me are some of the regulars who carefully construct smear diaries.

I'm not concerned about November. If the person who wrote that thing can do a 180 and decide she'll be proud to support Obama if he wins the nomination, then anyone can.

But I do understand the Clinton supporters who say they won't vote for Obama -- I've been there, and I know how angry and miserable some of them feel. It's a terrible feeling, and I hope they ultimately move past it as easily as I did.

It is tough when your candidate loses the nomination or an election.... I have dealt with that often as I usually do not back the obvious favorites... I'm on my 4th, count it 4th now.

remember who it was, said something I liked. S/he said, "Primaries are for falling in love. General elections are for falling in line." And it's very true. I was devastated after Dean dropped out, but I sucked it up and worked hard for Kerry. Most of us it get over it eventually.

As soon as Dean was out, I made up my mind then and there that I wasn't voting for that effete, wind-surfing, swiftboat driving idiot Kerry.

I voted for Bush, because the Democrats needed to be taught a lesson.

I wouldn't be part of an online community that did allow editing or deleting content. My first post accurately described what I think the poster brought to this forum. I added the second post on further reflection to show respect for his service, and the possibility he isn't an ass in RL.

I felt like leaving the party and giving up when my candidate lost four years ago. I hated Kerry and I didn't want to vote for him. I'm glad I did and I'm glad I didn't quit on the party.

It stinks when your candidate loses, but it really isn't a good reason to give up on the party. Give it some time.

I hope you don't leave. Hillary's supporters may have many more things to do, or a jobs to work at than to sit on blogs with many a names all day, or be paid for being here, but she is always worth and the cause is always worth the support when you can give it.

I understand why some Clinton supporters don't like Obama , but I just think he ran a better campaign than she did . Her campaign made critical errors with the caucuses and I don't think it is Obama's fault he fought like the underdog with no margin of error which has made him successful.

She is a better candidate than the campaign she put together and it is her talents as a politician that has carried her this far inspite of her campaign.

That said if you are not interested in voting for Obama its your choice , I don't believe in party line voting even though I have voted mostly for democrats , in my neck of woods it is not surprising to find up to 35% voting republican in presidential elections and it is not going to change this cycle.

I have a favorable opinion but I disagree with him on a myraid of issues which might pose a stumbling block in the end .

I am not ready to commit to vote for any of the 3 left , Clinton , Mccain or Obama because I have points of agreement and disagreement with all of them albeit 1 more than the other 2.

If Obama does win the nomination (90% chance), I hope he is able to win your vote by November. Your vote belongs to you alone - a sacred franchise. It is up to Obama to ask for your vote and win your vote. I hope he comes through for you and people like you.

I am a Clinton supporter, but I have not soured so on Obama that I would not be willing to vote for him. I sincerely believe that 80% or more of the negativity toward Clinton has been generated by the media in this primary. I find Obama's "new politics" schtick unconvincing, but his basic issue positions - fuzzy as they are, seem close enough to mine that I am willing to vote for him. That's a decision each of us will have to make individually, and I wishyou good luck with yours.

The way I feel right now on this Memorial Day is to remember we are all Americans first, before we are Democrats.
